The Global OrthoBiologic Team successfully returned from their first medical training in the Balkans. Serbia was the first stop on the trip. The GOB team was represented by Dr. Himanshu Bansal, scientific advisory member, Mr. Randy Beimel, GOB President and Mr. Mihail Blagoev, VP International Business Development. Another scientific advisory member of our board – Dr. Dzihan Abazovic, invited the team to Belgrade.
The main reason for the Belgrade visit was the beginning of teamwork between Dr. Abazovic and Dr. Bansal. They both shared common health goals, physical and mental effort in assessing, planning, or evaluating patient care. Dr. Abazovic performed five spinal cord injuries procedures that day with the expert assistance of Dr. Bansal. The Serbian specialists were amazed and impressed by Dr. Bansal’s experience in Regenerative Medicine and he was invited to be a lecturer on the 3rd Symposium of Regenerative Orthopedics in Novi Sad (01-02 April, 2016).
Indian scientist Dr. Himanshu Bansal shared his extremely innovative project in front of his Serbian colleagues “Brain Death Reversal – First Ever Study in the World”. A team of doctors from India and the US, led by Dr. Bansal, is working on an ambitious project to infuse life into those deemed brain dead. As part of the project, the team has been granted ethical permission to recruit 20 patients declared clinically dead from traumatic brain injury. Global OrthoBiologic Inc is one of the proud sponsors of the project.
Dr. Stefano Batista was one of the doctors who also visited us during our stay in Serbia. He is well known for doing medical tourism to Africa from Europe and he was highly impressed by the Serbian facility of Dr. Abazovic. As soon as Dr. Batista found out that the facility is approved by the Serbian ministry of health to perform stem cell procedures, he immediately considered changing his African center for medical tourism to Belgrade.
Second stop of our medical training trip was Zagreb, Croatia. Dr. Abazovic presented his protocols and cases regarding wound care management in front of the members of company Stoma Medical. Željko Vuk and his colleagues were extremely impressed by the significant improvements of the patients just by using BMAC in the wound care management.
Our second meeting in Zagreb was with Dr. Mladen Miskulin. He specializes in orthopedics and traumatology and he is Assistant Professor at the University of Dubrovnik. We presented him the opportunity to use the Magellan® Autologous Platelet Separator in his sports medicine practice and the benefits he could receive from it.
The GOB team travelled on to Slovenia after the successful presentations in Croatia. Our partners from Educell were organizing their First Aesthetic Congress in Ljubljana and we were invited there in order to introduce the benefits of Magellan® Autologous Platelet Separator to the top aesthetics and dermatologists in the country. Dr. Abazovic was well received by the audience as he discussed the benefits of the highly concentrated product from a single therapy.
At the end of this medical training trip, the Global OrthoBiologic Team was invited to Serbia again for the 3rd Symposium of Regenerative Orthopedics in Novi Sad (01-02 April, 2016).
